IEP Level 1 is designed for the True Beginner in English-language training—someone with no knowledge of spoken or written English.
Upon successful completion of the Level 1, the student will be able to
• understand the essentials of correct English pronunciation that lead to overall oral and
aural comprehensibility,
• utilize oral communication skills in limited social settings,
• speak in short sentences, use very basic English grammar and vocabulary, and
• listen, read, speak, and write English well enough to progress to Level 2 as exhibited
through the unit, midterm and final assessment scores.
